Hop the bunny rabbit is knit from hand spun organic cotton — a really nice feeling (and environmentally friendly) product from Blue Sky Alpacas. The sweater is in Blue Sky Alpacas’ skinny cotton, color basil, and the face and carrot are knit from scraps in my yarn stash. Hop was a quick knit – over the weekend – both the rabbit and the sweater are knit all in one piece. The nice thing is that there’s no piecework and no legs, arms, head, etc., to keep coming loose – what you lose is a more movable, finished final product. Nonetheless, I liked knitting Hop and may make a few more to go into Easter baskets . . .
The Blue Sky Alpacas yarn line has a lot of wonderful products, a great line of colors, and many environmentally friendly options. Blue Sky Alpacas also offers great patterns to go with their different yarn lines. I purchased the skinny cotton in color blackberry, just because it was such a great color – and name – that I couldn’t pass it up. Now I need to find something to make out of one skein (or purchase more . . .)Pin It
