Beautiful colors, although I thought the end result would be more open and airy lace than what I ended up with – maybe it’s because I used US 3 needles instead of the US 5 recommended by the pattern. The yarn is one skein of Sweet Georgia Cashsilk Lace in color Tourmaline – can you imagine more incredible laceweight yarn, made of equal parts cashmere and silk?! This is one of my favorite yarn lines ever – hand-dyed in British Columbia. The pattern is Ishbel. I ended up with enough leftover yarn out of the 400-yard skein that I think I could have gotten a second shawlette out of it.
I thought this was a very quick knit, for laceweight yarn and a shawlette pattern – could almost do it in a weekend (okay, maybe a long weekend). It shows off the yarn nicely by combining a stockinette stitch section with a more open lace section. Next time, though, I’d like to knit this yarn on larger needles with a lacier, more gossamer pattern.Pin It
