Multnomah Shawl

This pattern was a great way to showcase the yarn, Shibui Sock (100% superwash merino) in color Mulberry.  The nice thing about it was that it used only two skeins (191 yds ea) – I was three rows short at the end, but decided it was better to bind off then, rather than buy a third skein for only three rows!

The only downside to this pattern was that I thought the finished product would be a little bigger, but it’s a nice fit to wrap around your neck (more of a shawlette than a shawl, I guess).

I knit on the recommended US 3s, and finished it up in less than a week – I think that it will be my go-to pattern when I have a smaller amount of fingering yarn, it’s especially nice for yarn like this that has no varigation within a single color – shows it off nicely with the garter stitch, and just a bit of lace along the edges.
