Another free knit pattern on the Purl Bee that I couldn’t resist, mostly because of the deep chocolate color and the beautiful texture of the yarn. Knit on US 7s in a simple K2 P2 pattern, the project took two skeins of Blue Sky Alpaca Suri Merino (60% baby suri / 40% merino), each 164 yds, in color Earth.
It actually took longer than I anticipated, because it’s a 16″ long tube, which takes a while in a ribbed knitting pattern. The cast-off uses US 8s, to give the end of the cowl that rests against your collarbones a wider, fluted edge.
A perfect FO because it would look beautiful on everyone and it can be worn with practically anything. I’d like to try it in a different yarn and color, but I think you’d still want something that had that soft halo effect – some alpaca or mohair, probably.Pin It
