A surprise project for Alia’s 8th birthday (since she remains dedicated to all things bunny) . . . this was one of the easiest stuffed animal sewing projects I’ve completed in a while, because it’s sewn almost entirely by machine – yipee!
The pattern is on the amazing Purl Bee, found here. I used Mary Flanagan felted wool in colors Oatmeal (three 13″x15″ pieces) and Mint (one 13″x15″ piece) (I liked the sample sewn in the more traditional white and pink, but I thought Alia would enjoy a little more of an alternative look to her bunny).
All you need is the felt and stuffing – I hand-sewed the face and nose with embroidery thread, per the pattern photos. I finished him up in less than two hours – at this rate, I could sew an entire herd of bunnies! Flock? Gaggle? Hmmm . . .
