Great yarn / hat combo – I highly recommend this new (at least, new to me and just recently available online) yarn from Tolt Yarn & Wool.  It’s YOTH Big Sister – a DK-weight in a beautiful “raw palette” of colors.  It is incredibly soft, yet holds structure really well.  I wanted to buy a skein in every color!

The pattern – Rutherford – was designed for this yarn, I believe, and it shows it off beautifully.  It’s simple and (fairly) quick, and I like the fact that it’s both unisex and reversible.  I knit on US 5s 16″ circulars, and the hat takes only one skein (with a fair amount left over).  The colors are Cacao (on the right) and Portabella – I have another WIP in Sea Salt.  If I can come up with enough one-skein projects, maybe I can work my way through the entire palette . . .

  1. Thank you for introducing me to this goooorgeous yarn!! I’ve just had a look and, yes, I want All Of The Things, too! I adore the colour range. If it weren’t a tad pricey I could see something in a 12 colour stripe ; ) Love the hat pattern, too. Now faved on Ravelry and pinned on Pinterest! Jen
