For my youngest daughter, age 9 1/2 . . . she might actually wear this one!
Pattern: Little Miss Rainbow
Yarn: MC yarn is De Rerum Natura Gillatt in color poivre et sel (I needed only 15g of the third skein – which means a lot left over!)
CC yarns are Plucky Sweater in my stash from a Sweet Tart gradient purchase: Lawn Ornament, Fondant, Tip Toe, and Tulip Time.
Needles: US 8s (US 7s for ribbing)
Size: I really wrestled with this one – my daughter will be 10 in a few months, so I thought about going with the 10/11, but everything I’ve knit her lately has turned out oversized, and I wanted her to be able to wear this one right now, so I went with size 8/9. It does fit, but with no room to spare – which is fine, she likes things to be closer fitting, and it seems like the style right now is for the little girls’ cardigans to be a little on the small size (at least, according to the Brooklyn Tweed patterns!) The downside, however, is she likely won’t be able to wear it by next winter – oh well, it will be a great sweater throughout the spring months and into summer.
I found all of the buttons in my button jar – I thought that the mood of the sweater called for something a little more ad hoc and carefree than matching buttonsPin It
