I don’t knit a lot of lace – and this project reminded me why! I like the overall effect, but I find it really tedious, and frankly, I think that you get a lot of the same effect with a much simpler pattern. This was a very complicated lace pattern, particularly at the end, and when the final rows are over 400 stitches, you get a little worn out! However, the yarn is beautiful – the photos don’t do it justice, it really does glow.
Pattern: Nadeshiko by Leila Raabe
Yarn: Knit Purl Glow Lace (60% extra fine merino / 40% mulberry silk) – 2 skeins (400 yds/ea) – color Satin
Needles: US 4
The other cool thing about this yarn is it’s a limited edition run made by my LYS, Knit Purl. The colors are beautiful, and the combination of merino and mulberry silk gives it both strength, soft-to-the-touch, and that silky glow. I plan on knitting a different color in a simpler lace pattern – maybe something double-stranded.
